I am a freelance business consultant and website designer based in Taos, New Mexico. My clients are located across the U.S. and Canada. I specialize in creative strategy development, designing user-friendly websites that will help grow your audience, and developing tools and systems that are effective and efficient.

My Approach

As a creative strategist, there are three factors that I keep in mind throughout the project. Every decision I make for the site's design must support one or more of my project goals:

  1. Ensure my client's needs are met, their goals are achieved, and their expectations are considered.

  2. Make sure the audience's questions are answered, their needs are met, and their unique perspectives are considered.

  3. Triple check that the tools I create or use are effective, efficient, and accurate and will ensure an ease of use by the end user.


Merely designing a nice looking website is insufficient for achieving strategic goals. And so, I incorporate valuable business development tools throughout the design process.


  1. Strategy development: I rely on knowing the goals of my client and data collected through research on your industry, target audience, and competition and the ever changing world of website design.

  2. Form and function: This focuses on how language and design choices can best be used to achieve goals.

  3. Structure: Which tools will help be effective and efficient and and what page layout will improve the user experience.

  4. Design & page formatting: The bare minimum is ensuring the design does not hinder site functionality, by optimizing photos, ensuring accessibility, etc. Preferably, the design will actively support site goals by driving visitors to make certain actions, encouraging engagement, etc.

  5. Review and refine Read, edit, review, repeat.

SCOPE OF WORK

SEO Research & Site Updates


GENERAL SCOPE
  1. Revisit Previous Research: Compile/review notes from previous SEO project.

  2. Research: 

    • Industry research on how to best present your work, what types of content should be presented, etc.

    • Research on the needs and behaviors of your target audience

    • Keyword research

    • Resources to strengthen your SEO and grow your online presence

  3. Copyediting / Writing:

    • Refine content currently on the site

    • Craft new content

    • Update content that exists elsewhere

  4. Site Map Changes:

    • Potentially adjust current pages / navigation

    • Adding pages

      • Standard web pages that search engines want all websites to have (Website Terms of Use, Website Privacy Policy, Cookie’s Policy). These are generally linked inconspicuously in the footer.

  5. Design adjustments: No changes to design without your approval.

  6. Monthly Monitoring: Do regular monitoring of site analytics and track changes on a Google Sheet. This can help direct the SEO efforts and show which changes have been effective.

  7. Regular Reports: Provide a written report on work completed, issues found, and recommendations for changes to site.


FLAT RATE
$300

This flat rate covers the time I've worked so far AND includes a 50% discount due to the challenges we had getting the ball rolling.


To date, I have done 6 hours of work, including:

  • Revisited previous research and suggestions

  • Developed a plan for how to approach this

  • Started on new research

  • Used tools to analyze site and identify areas of improvement

  • Evaluated that analysis while doing on-site analysis of my own

  • Developed recommendations for site updates

RETAINER
TBD

We did not discuss your budget. The nature of SEO work means it van be done for 1 hour a week or 40 hours a week. I propose we commit to a monthly retainer for 3 months, which can be extended or changed after that.


You determine the maximum amount to pay each month. The minimum number of hours would be based on an hourly rate of $75. For ex: I would work 4-6 hours .


ADDITIONAL SITES

In an email sent in September 2024, you said: "I was thinking of asking you about all three sites simultaneously, so I can do what I can to get the ball rolling and then I could put it into your court, if you were interested in taking it on."


I am still interested, if you still need help with additional sites. It might be best to have a separate proposal for those.


Your Commitment & Responsibility

Here are examples of your commitments and responsibilities which are required to complete this scope of work at the quoted price rate:

  • Communicating your preferences/expectations on reports and updates

  • Providing new or updated written content, as requested

  • Approving changes to written content and design before applied to live site

  • Reviewing changes

Payments

Invoices are emailed directly from the system. Payments on retainer are due immediately. Work does not commence until payment is received.


Payment Schedule

  • Due week of February 2, 2025

    • $150: 50% of flat rate for work done

    • TBD: Retainer for February

  • Due March 3, 2025

    • $150: 50% of flat rate for work done

    • TBD: Retainer for March

  • Due March 31, 2025

    • TBD: Retainer for April


If there are changes or additions to the original Scope of Work or timeline after the first payment is paid, DH Solutions will either create a new contract for the new tasks or I will invoice the client at an hourly rate of no less than $75 per hour.



Payment Methods

Payment is due upon receipt. An invoice for the first payment will be provided once we finalize the agreement.

  • Using the link included with the emailed invoice
