SUMMARY OF REQUEST

You hired a web designer to build a site for your property rental. They were unwilling or unable to make the changes you requested. The current version of the site does not look good on tablet or mobile views and it is difficult to update.

You are already past your deadline for when you wanted to get this site live. You need someone to help you get the site to optimized and you want some guidance and training so you can make updates to the site.

I did a quick review of your current website. Here are some of the things I noticed:

  • The site was only designed for desktop viewing and was not optimized for tablet or mobile viewing.

  • The designer created various sections using the wrong element. These may work for desktop view, but it complicates the process of improving tablet and mobile designs.

  • Some of the designer's choices will make it difficult to update or add new information or create new pages down the road. For example, the fonts and font sizes added to the Site Theme are not the fonts and sizes used in the designs. So, the wrong fonts appear when you add a new text element.

  • Several important pages were not included, such as Terms, Privacy Policy, and FAQ. These are vitally important for rental properties.

  • I used a Wix tool to check site accessibility. This makes sure the can be viewed by people with poor vision and other disabilities. I found 3 or more errors on every page. Some of these errors tell me the designer did not do basic SEO on your site. Other errors tell me some design choices make the content not visible to all site visitors. These errors effect functionality AND can limit how well your site does in Google searches.

  2. Make sure the audience's questions are answered, their needs are met, and their unique perspectives are considered.

  3. Triple check that the tools I create or use are effective, efficient, and accurate and will ensure an ease of use by the end user.

SCOPE OF WORK

Website Redesign

Based on my review, I believe it will take a lot of time and effort to edit the current site. In order to save you time, money, and frustrations, I propose that we:

  • Build a new copy of the site then transfer it to you once approved.

  • Use the same fonts, colors, photos, and layouts on the current website but use tools and elements that will make it easy to optimize the site for tablet and mobile viewing.

  • Potentially change a section's layout to improve user experience.

  • Create individual pages about the property, including starter language with targeted keywords and ideas/tips on how to expand the written content:

    • Home (welcome, overview, and customer reviews)

    • The Casita (description, list of features, image gallery, and reviews)

    • Amenities  (description, list of amenities, image gallery, and reviews)

    • The Neighborhood (description, image gallery, and links other sites)

    • About (info about you, description of services, and FAQ section)

  • Add missing business pages using boiler plate language:

    • Terms (CYA page with rules and policies)

    • Privacy

  • Make any edits or changes that the previous designer wouldn't accommodate.

Backend Support

The following are things I include with all sites I design.

  • Basic on-page search engine optimization and image optimization.

  • Test site functionality, accessibility, and appearance on a variety of devices.

  • Ensure your site is connected Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Business Profile, Bing, etc.

  • Review the backend to make sure all settings are accurate and complete.

  • Provide a video conference training and written step-by-step instructions on how to update content.

Benefits

  • A fully optimized and responsive website that functions and looks good on all devices.

  • Design adjustments that improve the user experience and make your site accessible to more visitors, despite their abilities.

  • Adding new pages will improve the user experience and provide the information your potential customers need. This will increase conversions.

  • Enriched content will help you sell the experience.

  • Including starter content on new pages ensures the design will work. And, by you needing to expand the descriptions, you'll have real content to add as you learn how to make updates.

  • Stronger SEO that helps improve your site rank in search results on Google, Bing, etc.

  • Easier site updates will save time and avoid frustration.

  • This approach will make it easier for us to review and test the changes without effecting the live site.

If you want to add pages or features beyond this scope of work, we will first discuss the details then either update our agreement or create a second agreement for the new tasks.

Your Commitment & Responsibility

Your signature on this proposal is indicates your acceptance and affirmation of the following commitments and responsibilities, which are necessary to complete this scope of work at the quoted price rate:

  • Finalize the changes to site flow/navigation (before work starts).

  • Provide new or updated written content, as needed.

  • Review the draft website, which includes:

    • Read all text

    • Test all functions (such as links/buttons)

    • Send me any necessary edits.

  • Maintain open lines of communication throughout project

    • Communicate your expectations, questions, and concerns when they come up so we can handle it quickly (so we save time and get the best result).

    • Respond to my communications in a timely manner. (Repeated or excessive delayed responses can impact the project timeline and could incur an added fee.)

  • Submit payments on or before the due dates.

TERMS

Timeline

My goal is to complete the site rebuild in one week. We may require more time, depending on changes or additions to content. This timeline does not include the training, which will be scheduled when the redesign is completed.

Rate

$65/hour
  • The website redesign will take roughly 5-6 hours. If the project requires additional time, the client must provide written approval before starting that work.

  • This rate is discounted from my usual hourly rate because I am not creating the site design.

  • Time spent creating written instructions is free.

Payments

  • Invoice 1: I require a deposit of $195, to be paid before work starts. This will cover the first 3 hours of work.

  • Invoice 2: This will be sent when the rebuild is finished and will include any time not covered by the deposit.

If there are changes or additions to the original Scope of Work or timeline after the deposit is paid, DH Solutions will either create a new contract for the new tasks or I will invoice the client at an hourly rate of no less than $75 per hour.

Ownership of the website will be transferred to you when the balance has been paid in full.

Payment Methods

Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice, though invoices include a 14 day window as a courtesy.

Clients may pay their invoice with the following payment methods:
